Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate are the calorie calculations?
BurnTracker uses industry-standard MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) values combined with your personal profile data to calculate calories burned. For most activities, our calculations are within 10-15% accuracy compared to laboratory measurements.
Why does the app need my location?
Location access is only required for tracking distance, pace, and route during outdoor activities like running, walking, or cycling. You can still use the app without location permissions, but distance tracking will be less accurate.
Is my data stored in the cloud?
No. BurnTracker stores all your workout data locally on your device. We do not upload or store your personal information on any servers.
How do I delete my data?
You can delete individual workouts by swiping left on any workout in your history. To completely remove all app data, you can uninstall the app from your device, as all data is stored locally.
Can I export my workout data?
While the app doesn't support direct export, if you enable Apple Health integration, your workout data will be available through the Health app.
How can I improve battery life while tracking?
For long workouts, you can reduce battery usage by:
- Turning off the screen during workouts (tracking continues in the background)
- Closing other apps running in the background
- Starting with a fully charged device for long workouts
